From the Roaster: A Reason to Celebrate (March 2021 edition)
Wow, RBR is 2 years old already! I mean, what have I even been doing all this time? This “Reflection” part of life is introspective. Personally, I like to use birthdays and anniversaries as a reminder to reflect. How did I make myself mentally/physically stronger, how did I increase the wealth of my relationships with my family, friends, customers, and colleagues, what did I do to leave the world a better place than I found it?
When I launched RBR I set 4 foundational pillars: Ethical Sourcing, Environmentally Conscious, Community Driven, and Super Tasty Beans. Every day we try to live up to these standards in everything we do. Our ongoing efforts to work with local non-profits, clubs and organizations help raise awareness and funds with coffee fundraisers to donate up 50% of sales. Recently, the RBR coffee fundraiser with Grace Academy helped a team of seniors travel to Central America to distribute medication, reading glasses, and work with mothers and infants alongside a group of doctors and nurses from the Hagerstown area.
We are stoked to be working on a new environmentally conscious packaging design that includes biodegradable and compostable components. Our ethical sourcing practices focus on fair trade or direct trade to maximize standards. But at the end of the day, it’s all about those tasty beans!
Reflection can be an extraordinary thing, craft roasting in my garage for friends and family to a full commercial roastery with hundreds of customers every week. I cannot be anymore humbled and thankful for the reception I received from the community. I respectfully bow to each of you that have helped my dream become a reality.
Happy Birthday RBR! Cheers! Craig

Rwanda Blend Debuts Today! Special Anniversary Box Now Available.
Ok, I've got a secret to share! I have been holding back on this Rwanda single origin to kick off our 2nd anniversary. Developing this roast has been a true pleasure as I found the sweet spot of juicy, bright and vibrant notes.
This coffee comes via direct trade with the Rusatira Family in Rwanda. A wonderful washed coffee from the acidic soils of Nyungwe National Equatorial Forest, which gives the altitude, rains, and freshness needed for excellent coffee. Their vision is to establish a daycare facility at each coffee station to allow mothers to have access to their children while working and use this facility as a primary healthcare access point to the women at the station. Parallel to this initiative they will also start livestock projects to promote the community's social and economic resilience.
We have paired this immaculate coffee with our custom 1st edition 4 oz double wall handmade coffee glass. The double thermal insulated design isn't hot to the touch and made of durable borosilicate glass.
I have finished off the box with our famous Colombia Buena Vista from Yeb's farm via our friends at Cosecha Traders. This creamy chocolate bomb will sooth any coffee palate. Check out the included coffee passport for a great expose on the world of coffee.
Yes, I want the Rwanda Anniversary Box!
